How do I compare demographics?

4min

By comparing demographics you gain insight into who your target audience is.

Build a bond with your visitors, know who they are, where they’re from and what they’re doing. Using this knowledge, you can focus your advertisements to target more specifically. Comparing demographic data is important for discovering what your actual target audience is. You can use this tool to find out whether you’ve sold the number of tickets you wanted to in a certain city, for example, and decide how to proceed in terms of your marketing campaigns.

How do I compare demographic data?

1. Go to the Backstage, click on ‘Tools’ and then on ‘Compare demographics’. 2. Now you can pick which events and which tickets you would like to compare. Pick the first dataset (which event and which tickets) and give the dataset a clear name. If you want to select all the tickets for a particular event, click on the ‘Toggle whole page’ button in the bottom-right of the pop-up window.

TIXIFY TIP: Keep in mind that you can also toggle between ‘Past’ and ‘Future’ events, so you can compare events that have passed with events yet to happen.

3. For the second dataset, repeat step 2 but choose the tickets you would like to compare with the first dataset. Once you’re happy with your datasets, click on ‘Select demographics’. 4. Now you can select what you want to use to compare the two datasets. For our example, we want to know the age and gender of our visitors, as well as what city they’re from. Click on the dropdown menu and select the options you would like to compare.

5. Click on the blue ‘Analyse data’ button to begin comparing the data. Once this is done, various tables will appear which give you an overview of all the information you requested.

TIXIFY TIP: You can make your comparisons even more specific by clicking on ‘Add visitor filter’. By doing so, you can filter out information you don’t want to add to your comparisons - such as a specific age group or city. This can be useful when you want to compare particular cities or age groups, for example.
